Although predominantly a car-free tent site, we’re happy to accept smaller campervans, short wheel base only (under 5m), so have allocated an area especially for you. Please note, this area is slightly ridged so bear this in mind if you’re wanting to add an awning. Sorry, no caravans or Motorhomes.

- 4-Night Bank Holiday Weekend : arrive Friday depart Tuesday (May); arrive Thursday depart Monday (August)
- Other Weekends: 2 nights, arrive Friday depart Sunday
Check-in after 2pm
Please vacate your pitch by 1pm on departure day
- Adults (age 18+) : £19 per night
- Teenagers (age 11-17) : £10 per night
- Children (age 5-10) : £6 per night
- Pre-school (age 4 & under) : No charge
Awnings:
Please note, the campervans are pitched in an area which is not so suitable for tents as there is a slight ridge to the site. This will affect your awning too. (The photo below was not take on our campsite)
Campervan awnings used to look like this, but these days, like tents, awnings are getting bigger and bigger to the point that they often end up bigger than the campervan itself.
We therefore require details of the make and model of your awnings before we can confirm whether we can accommodate it.
- Pull-out canopy (no sides) : No charge
- Attached Awnings – with sides: £25 (however, not all pitches are able to accommodate awnings with sides. It will depend on the awning – which is why we need full, accurate details – make and model and number where applicable please)

Campervans and Roof Top Tents
To book a campervan or roof top tent pitch at Barefoot, please visit our ‘Availability Overview’ page via the “Check Availability” link below. From there you will be able to ‘Request a Pitch’. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible to confirm whether we can accommodate your campervan. Camping fees must then be submitted in full to secure your booking.
This is a small campsite: We take great care not to overcrowd the site so campervan pitches are allocated according to whether you have an awning and its size, shape and orientation. When completing your booking request it is therefore essential to include the following information as appropriate:
- the make and model of your campervan (SWB only max length 5m)
- the make and model of any awning you would like to use (please note: Pull-out canopies with 2 poles which are used for shade only are not classed as awnings and there is no charge for them. Please also note that not all pitches are suitable for awnings)
- please also note that we only accept small SWB (short wheel base) campervans, such as the old VW’s or Bongos, not LWB (long wheel base) campervans, conversions or motorhomes. Max length 5m
To book a pitch suitable for a RTT we’ll need to know:
- the make and model of your vehicle
- whether your RTT opens to the side, to the back, or straight up

Northmoor Lock – Upper Lock Paddock
Tents and Campervans
The Upper Lock Paddock, upstream of Northmoor Lock, stretches from north to south along the riverbank with views of the evening sunset across the river.
This site is on two levels with full sunshine on the site from early morning.
Campervan pitches are on the upper level which is not as flat as the tent area on the lower level. Campervans are able to level themselves either by lining themselves along the ridge or by straddling the ridge, however, awnings may not be level with the campervan, as this illustration shows.
- Since July 2024, changes in government legislation means that camping in this field has been restricted to the raised level at the back of the field. This field can still be used for games and picnics, you just can’t pitch a tent here.
- This is still the best place to launch canoes or go for a swim.
- Campervan pitches on the upper level are not affected by the pitch restrictions.

Yes and no. Campervans are restricted to the top of the Upper Lock Paddock. There is usually room to pitch a small tent alongside but additional or larger tents will need to be located on the lower level of this paddock.
Sorry log pods and campervan pitches are not in the same paddock.

We try to be as flexible as possible with pitches but it’s important you don’t park your campervan until you have checked-in with site staff.
Acoustic guitars, tin whistles and other ‘quiet’ instruments are welcome, but it’s a big NO-NO for amplified music – CD players, radios etc. Whilst you no doubt enjoy the music you are playing, the sound can carry and be incredibly annoying to other campers who have come here to relax and unwind. No drums either please!
